February 2021 Edition

It’s time to register for AMGA’s 2021 Annual Conference (AC21)! The AC21 virtual event will be taking place from April 20-22, 2021, and will focus on surviving and thriving in the COVID era. Each day of the AC21 conference will focus on a different theme—Innovations in Health Care, Patient Care and Experience, and Organizational Resiliency—allowing you to tap into the expert-led presentations most relevant to you.

We hope you’ll join us for the Foundation Celebration on April 21 at 1:00 p.m. ET. This virtual event will serve as a final celebration of all that we have accomplished throughout the Together 2 Goal® campaign. We’ll also share a preview of our next national campaign—an exciting announcement you won’t want to miss!

Registration is now open , with early bird registration discounts available through March 19, 2021. And through April 2, 2021, AMGA members can qualify for a special group registration discount by purchasing an unlimited pass, allowing the opportunity for more leaders from a member organization to view the conference program. Please contact Isiah Jordan at 703.838.0033 ext. 322 or via email for more information.

Campaign Spotlight

As we prepare for Together 2 Goal® to come to a close next month, we’d like to remind you that the campaign website will remain available beyond the official campaign wrap-up on March 31, 2021. Although we will no longer add new content to the website after this date, all of the tools and resources collected throughout the campaign will still be available, including a number of patient and provider resources from Janssen Pharmaceuticals that were newly added last month. We encourage you to continue to leverage campaign resources as you carry on your diabetes work beyond the campaign. Be sure to also keep an eye out for the T2G Best Practices Compendium, coming to the T2G website soon, which will highlight key metrics and lessons learned throughout the campaign.

Resource of the Month

Diabetes technology, such as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), can have vast benefits for diabetes management. If you have patients that may benefit from a CGM, the Virtual Diabetes Specialty Clinic (VDiSC) may be a great opportunity for them to gain access to this technology! VDiSC is a yearlong study that will assess the feasibility and efficacy of establishing a virtual diabetes clinic, with a focus on the introduction and ongoing use of CGM technology. VDiSC offers holistic patient education and support through a virtual clinic team of physicians, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (CDCES), and behavioral health specialists. The virtual nature of this clinic minimizes typical patient barriers, such as geography, cost, and access to specialty care. Share the VDiSC informational flyer  with patients who want to learn more or encourage them to visit the VDiSC website.
